It took less than 24 hours for a federal judge to halt DirecTV’s illegal cancelation of the One America News Network. In a special session, Judge Curtis Racker put a stay on the decision and ordered AT&T, DirecTV’s parent company, to stand down.
Judge Racker’s clerk, Joe Konders, said the decision was easy:
“When will these people realize that the 1st Amendment in this country is absolute. OAN is allowed to say whatever they like. Reagan did away with that Fairness Doctrine crap that forced all news stations to tell the same news.
Those days are over. The news has several versions, and they’re all protected free speech.”
DirecTV spokesman, Art Tubolls, said the judge went beyond his legal power, and that his bosses at AT&T have no intention of continuing their relationship with the “fascist-loving Trumpster lunatics” at OAN.
Tubolls went on to explain that since the judge and the court are satirical whimsies, whatever that means, their orders are null and void and they don’t have to abide by them. Maybe he can explain that to the “satirical” judge after he gets his subpoena.
The matter will now go before the 567th Regional District Court of Appeals Courts and Redundancy Department Depatrments for final review before going up the hill to be approved by the Council of Olympus.
God Bless America.
