Counting legal fees for a slew of legal teams, experts, time, maintenance, and constant deliveries of Chardonnay, you and I, Mr. and Mrs. Taxpayer, are looking at about 2 and a half billion dollars.

Speaker of the House Pelosi isn’t too keen on having that number creep out into the public eye, so yesterday, as evidenced by the filing of re-appropriation form 77-A in the Congressional Budget office, she quickly moved the amount from the Department of Social Security to cover the cost.

Independent journalist Jay Garrick sped to Pelosi’s office and got a brief statement:

“Well most of Trump’s voters and supporters are retired seniors.  I think it’s fitting that we ask them to help pay to fix the mistake they made.  They’ll just have to do without cable for a year or two.  Okay?  Now excuse me, I have to meet up with my liquor boy.”

The price tag for this little dog and pony show seems awfully steep, especially with only a little more than half of Americans approving it.  Let’s hope that at the very least, we get a T-shirt.

  1. I will be so glad when Trump is gone so we all will have to find something else to complain about. Politically that is. I am tired of hearing the same ‘ol names and the same ‘ol arguments. The thing I hate the most is how we as a country have become so polarized. America will never be great again because a house divided cannot even stand much less be great. The impeachment of Clinton took years and got way off track i.e lying to congress about some stain on a dress.(But at least he did testify in front of congress whereas Trumps tells everyone to ignore congressional subpoenas). When Mueller was doing his job all we heard from the White House and republicans in congress was how much money was being spent and how the whole thing should be wrapped up. Well it has been wrapped up and Pelosi did not even entertain the idea of impeaching Trump over the results of the Meuller investigation. And yet the White House, who wanted the country to move past Mueller and the investigation, is the very same folks that keeps this investigation alive and in the news. Sending the AG Barr all over the world at taxpayer expense to try and learn the origin of the investigation makes no sense personally, politically or financially. Let it alone Trump. Continue to believe that the report found no obstruction and no collusion on your part and move the heck on. But you look weak when you keep asking foreign countries to help you win. Rely on your base here at home. And leave 2016 in the past. I know you cannot stand the thought that Hillary got 3 million more votes overall and you want to investigate voter fraud. Be careful what you ask for. But you were elected so let the past be. Bring Barr home and make him do what AG’s are supposed to do. And for God’s sake put Rudy in a retirement home somewhere. He is getting you in deeper and deeper into that swamp you were supposed to drain.

    The brand new version of the whistleblower complaint form, which was not made public until after the transcript of Trump’s July 25 phone call with the Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky and the complaint addressed to Congress were made public, eliminates the first-hand knowledge requirement and allows employees to file whistleblower complaints even if they have zero direct knowledge of underlying evidence and only “heard about [wrongdoing] from others.”
    The internal properties of the newly revised “Disclosure of Urgent Concern” form, which the intelligence community inspector general (ICIG) requires to be submitted under the Intelligence Community Whistleblower Protection Act (ICWPA), show that the document was uploaded on September 24, 2019, at 4:25 p.m., just days before the anti-Trump complaint was declassified and released to the public. The markings on the document state that it was revised in August 2019, but no specific date of revision is disclosed.
